ENVIRONMENT ESSAY

I don’t know what are the reasons about the changing climate maybe...
- Traffic
- Nuclear pollution
- Rubbish
- Industrial and factory pollution
- Disasters at sea
Most scientists now believe that pollution in the air is warming up the Earth’s climate. Gases such as carbon dioxide act like a sheet of glass above the Earth trapping the sun’s heat and making the air warmer than usual. This is called the greenhouse effect.
But, who knows? And I ask myself “What can I do?”
I think I can do lots of things, for example:
-Using renewable energy from the sun (solar panels), from de wind (windmills), from the sea.
-Recycling. In all towns we have special containers where we can separate paper, glass, cans... from general rubbish.
Going on foot, cycling or taking public transport (bus, tube,...) instead of my own car.
There are also several organisations like Friends of the Earth or Greenpeace who work preventing the earth’s natural resources; they try to educate people about the problems of the Earth in the future.
And now, I would like to ask you: what are you doing to save the environment at home, at work or school?

LEARNING MORE ESSAY

Nowadays it is very important to learn during our professional life because science and technology change quickly in the global society.
Governments and private academies give us a lot of opportunities to do it. You can learn about different subjects: languages, maths, history, biology, computers, etc. Besides, you can also have a lot of ways to keep learning: seminars, conferences, training courses, e-learning or blending courses.
In addition, currently we have computers in our home and this situation is ideal to organize your learning time.
On the other hand, new technologies, like Internet, allow us to do video conferences, to chat, to exchange opinions in forums and it is not necessary to assist to on-site lessons (with partners and teachers).
In conclusion, learning is now easier for adult than years ago because we have a lot of options and adults pupils are more motivated than younger ones and they understand why something is important to know or to do.

WELCOME TO OUR ENGLISH CORNER

Hi everybody,

Welcome to our new English corner. As we are going to exchange a lot of information and ideas along the course, I thought that a blog could be very useful. We can use it as a 'meeting point' outside the classroom.

First of all, I'm going to post both the words and the essay about 'Learning more'.

During the week, I'll try to post the other topics.

Best wishes,

Susi.
